The Deere keeps going and going and....

I found his old beauty in a yard along while hiking. It may be old, but as near as I can tell it is still going.

From My Childhood

I spent all weekend working around the house, and have not touched the camera in over a week. I am posting some "SKY" pictures from my archives.
When we were kids, my Mother would take us outside to look at the clouds. She would always find some kind of an object in them. I would think that she would see a boat race in this formation.

When she saw a water spout like this, she would sing "I am a little teapot song"
Many summer evenings we would lay in the back yard just to watch the "sun go to sleep"
We spent many summers at my Aunt & Uncles home on the Washington Coast. The evening consisted of eating dinner, then we would all climb on Uncle Ross's flatbed truck and drive though town to see homes he was building at the time, then go to the far end of the beach and drive the entire length to the beach as the sunset.

Splish Splash, Taking A Bath

What is better than taking a cool bath on a hot day.
This is Fiona & Gwyn, both are names for the word white. Not today

Chickens take "dust baths" several times a day, it helps keep them cool and helps keep bugs away.
This was one of them eight short weeks ago

100 Degrees a perfect day to be down by the river.

The City Of Boise and neighboring Garden City has a bike path that runs along the Boise River. It is approximately 25 miles of continuous bike & walking trail. It starts and stops again in other parts of the valley to our west, but is not connected. I have read for years they want to have a continuous trail from the Oregon border to east Boise, but there is to much private property and environmental concerns.

The greenbelt crosses over the river several times with a series of bridges.
If you look closely you will see that this gentleman has a small Cocker Spaniel in his basket. The dog was just looking around enjoying the ride.
This is the first time I have seen these signs. I think it is great to see Cities all over the country working to preserve wildlife. I am old enough to remember in the 60's and 70's when this was unheard of.
Every years a local television station along with Saint Judes Children's Hospital sell tickets to win a "dream home" The was one of the homes a few years back. In this case it was not the expansive home or property that made it a dream home, it was that it was environmentally sufficient.
A sign of the times, smoking is not allowed on public walkways.

Have a safe holiday, thank you for visiting
