Food Storage

"I'll get you my Pretty"

How would you like it if I took your picture while you were eating breakfast?

What?

If I make a jump for it I can reach the bird feeder.

Going up!

"Meet my little friend"

What is so interesting about a squirrel?

I ma not sharing with anyone at all.

Tasty
Every morning & evening the ground squirrels come out in masses for meal time. With the help of my new telephoto lens with a macro setting, I was able to take my best photos if this ritual ever.

Indecisiveness

I could not decide if I liked them better in color or in black and white. I decided to post both ways.

The Groundhog Was WRONG!

We had quite the night, we had high winds, freezing rain and snow.
I am ready for spring any time. I can not complain to much, I know they have it much worse in the Midwest

Boise Downtown

Yesterday after I went shopping for new camera lenses I went down town to try them out.
 My new 70 - 300 telephoto lens
 My New Macro lens
 Boise has a rose garden.
 And a Black history museum

We do not have any old boring library, ours is a LIBRARY!
This is probably an Eagles nest based upon it location by the river
We finally have a construction site downtown. The "hole in the ground" they started building something here in the 90's There have been a few building starts that ended in  bankruptcy. This time we are 10 stories out of the ground.
Just a test to see how far the telephoto will reach.
This photo was taken from 25 feet away with the macro setting on the new telephoto.

Adult Hand Me Downs

When I bought my Olympus E510 6 years ago with a two lens kit, the saleswomen at Idaho Camera told me that it was a great starter SLR camera. it has a a 18 - 40 lens and a 40 - 150 lens. Just enough to be frustrating. It will kind of take macro photos and it will kind of take telephoto. My plan was to buy new lenses this year, but I found out that Olympus has discontinued that style of lens.

My daughter had a four year old Canon SLR camera that she wanted to upgrade. I bought the body and one lens from her, and bought two new lenses to fit it. I now have a 60mm 1:1 macron lens and a
70 - 300 telephoto lens. Michelle gave me a 28 - 80 kit lens with the camera. I hope to improve on what I leaned on the starter camera. I went downtown this afternoon to play with my new toy, I did not realize what I was missing.

The last part of this hand me down is that my wife wants to upgrade from a mirrorless point and shot to a SLR. Nancy is going to start using my old Olympus E510.

Everyone has a new camera without breaking the bank.

A Step Back Into The Old West.

Last weekend we drove up to our favorite little lunch stop, in the mountain town of Idaho City. This has become a birthday tradition. This year two of my daughters now have jobs with Sundays off, so they were able to join us.
Michelle is a photo bug just like Dad. When she started taking photos in college that inspired me to get serious about my taking photos.

This antique shop is closed every time we go up there. The sign on the door says that she is open the first and third Saturday from 10:00 to 1:00. This does not seem to be the case. The decor on the porch changes, and I would love to see what is inside.

Idaho City is a ghost town about 45 minutes north east of Boise. It was a gold mining town founded in 1861. The town burned to the ground 4 times in its early history. The last time it burned was 1871, so most of the buildings are from the 1870's

Kitty Cave

I do not know what it is about cats and bags.... First she had to attack the evil bag. After it was no longer a threat then she could climb inside to relax.

Happy Birthday To Me

Yesterday was my birthday, as well as our annual inventory at work. This is usually a fun-filled 14 hour work day, that is continued the following morning. It is actually not that bad, we get to see co-workers once a year from other parts of the state. We also get a day and a half of no phones, email, etc. If we had stayed on our normal schedule, inventory would have been on Valentines day, so we moved it up one week. How nice.

My boss bought me a birthday cake for inventory dessert, do you think he was trying to tell me something? Or maybe it's just that his 5 year old son selected it???
